It has been almost a whole year since I attended the spring Myrtle Beach Rally in 2007, and this restaurant review has been sitting IDLE in my DATAbase waiting for me to post it.

I actually spent several hours during the last year trying to decide weather I wanted to “let the cat out of the bag” and share this restaurant with you.  Why you say?  Because it is the best darn seafood restaurant since sliced bread and I want to keep it a secret.  I am being selfish and hate to think that I could be the reason a long line of patrons are waiting outside the front door when I try to get in.

Last year on day five of my visit a friend invited me out for a late night snack.  Most everything shuts down early in Myrtle Beach and this joint is one of the few restaurants that serve’s food late.  We arrived at Rockefellers Raw Bar, where I had previously passed by the last four nights.  You see from the outside you might not pull in because of the rustic appearance and old furnishings.  Have you heard the saying “looks can be deceiving?”

Once seated I was informed by my friend we would be ordering the STEAM POT.  He explained we would be sharing this order and I was in for a meal of a lifetime if I liked crap legs, shrimp, oysters, clams mussels, crawfish, sausage, new potatoes and corn on the cob!

After enjoying a couple cold beers and a few laughs, the server arrived at our table with what I would call and old time roasting pot your grandma used to bake a 20 lb turkey in.  The pot was packed or maybe it would better to say over-flowing with seafood.  Of coarse I now understood why we where sharing, you see the steam pot has enough food to feed two or more people.

No way to explain how good it tasted, but this is a meal you will not want to miss if you ever make it to Myrtle Beach, SC.  I admit that I returned the next day and ate the exact same order with a friend that I invited.

I then returned for the third day in a row and after speaking with several of the locals at the bar, I decide to try the local favorite Oysters Rockefeller Po Boy.  This was a homerun with my taste buds too.  Living several years in Louisiana I have eaten one to many Po Boys and never had one taste so good.

Therefore, if you are planning to visit this year’s spring rally there is a good chance you will find me there sucking some head “Crawfish Head” and enjoying a cold beer.  In fact, if you visit Rockefellers website look towards the right at the very top of the home page and download a 10% off food coupon that is good for the entire party.  In addition, I am told of you mention that you read this review at BikerDAT.com they will give you, your first DRAFT BEER FREE.  Bon Appetit!
