Last August I asked my wife if she wanted to go to Biketober fest, she said yes so I started inquiring about hotel prices... If the crazy prices they were asking for rooms through-out the area is an indication of the Spring event then I can see why there were so many rooms available.  It is bad when places jack-up prices when there is a major event, so I hope these greedy bastards are happy.  So we wanted to take a trip, I found that Savannah HD was having the Haunted Coast Rally the next week after Biketober Fest.  I made my reservations and we rode 250 miles in the rain to get there.  It was great, we had a blast, so forget Riptober Fest we will be going to Savannah this year for the 2nd annual Haunted Coast Rally.  So anyone who might fill the same way my wife and me do, check-out Savannah HD for dates.   Ride Safe    Rodney and Tammy Smith   Holden Beach NC

No question just an answer to why the low attendance at Bike Week. I go every year. No problems the past 2 years. 3 years ago I was chewed out and swore at by a cop for standing on the sidewalk in a line to get in a store.  The cops are assholes during Bike Week. They need to calm down before no one comes and they are laid off. I love Daytona but some of this stuff is BS.

I also failed to attend the DAYTONA rally this year due to "rip off" outrageous unjustified hotel rates! It would suit me fine if they were forced to rent their own rooms for themselves or suffer the consequences. It doesn't stop with the Hotel owners either. Why do HARLEY dealers double or triple their biker rental rates as well during events??? I say put the price gouging tactics up their asses. I've had enough as many others do too. Hopefully next year Hotel rooms will see a 100% drop in occupancy until the shit really hits the fan. What goes around comes around. Either we all cooperate to make a good time or f_ck it.
