Owner of HB Spokes dies

William "Larry" Fowler, owner of HB Spokes Restaurant and Saloon, died Tuesday. He was 65.

According to the bar's Web site, friends are invited to join a memorial ride to visitation services at Lee Funeral Home Chapel on Friday. The visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be at Inman Funeral Home in Tabor City, N.C., and service times will be announced.

The main structure ofH.B. Spokes Saloon, 1111 S.C. 9 E. in Longs, was destroyed by fire Sept. 10.

Fowler and his wife, Renea Fowler, had the building rebuilt in time for the May motorcycle rally.

Larry Fowler previously owned other area restaurants, including the Blue Marlin Yacht & Fishing Club.
